Infused Water for Brilliant and Resilient Skin
Infused Water for Brilliant and Resilient Skin
If you want to detox your skin, it isn’t all about what you put on your skin, but what you put inside your skin. Water is one of the best things for your skin, especially when you add more nutrients to it. This is where infusing water with fruits, vegetables, and herbs comes in. Here are some amazing, infused water combinations to help detox your skin.
Orange and Blueberry
This first detox water is very simple and made from just two ingredients – oranges and blueberries. The oranges are great because as a citrus fruit, it is going to provide extra antioxidants and collagen to help with firming up your skin and helping it to glow. The blueberries are not only filled with antioxidants, but they are also a superfood. Just add fresh slices of oranges and blueberries to the bottom of a pitcher, add ice, then pour in water and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours to allow the vitamins from the fruit to enter the water.
Spa Detox Water
If you have ever been to a spa, you have probably tried cucumber water. This a fresh, crisp detox water that is not only refreshing in flavor, but is amazing for promoting healthy skin. You can go one step further with the water by adding some other ingredients that are good for your skin, including a little mint and some lemon. The lemon can be squeezed into the water after the mint and cucumbers have infused, or you can add lemon slices to it.
Raspberry and Herbs
The great things about this detox water is that it is fruity, and you can customize it according to your preferences. The main fruit going into the water is raspberries, which have vitamin C to allow for the natural formation of collagen, along with those antioxidants you should always have for your skin. Raspberries also have anthocyanins, which are going to reduce any inflammation or redness in your skin. To add more flavor, you can choose an herb as well, like basil or mint.
Fruity Cinnamon Water
This is the perfect detox water for the fall season since it has some seasonal fruits, herbs, and cinnamon in it. There are many combos you can use, but the base of the water includes apple, cinnamon, and just a little bit of mint. If you have access to them, you can add in some strawberries and lemon slices as well.
Anti-inflammatory Water
This turmeric infused water packed full of antioxidants and great for when you are feeling under the weather, find your tummy feeling a little funny, or add it to your post workout routine. Combine 1 inch of peeled and sliced fresh turmeric root, 4 slices fresh ginger root and 1/2 lemon, sliced. Add to 2 quarts of water and refrigerate overnight. Strain and enjoy!
Immune Boosting Elderberry Water
Flowers and berries can be used to make an herbal infusion to add to your water. Consume elderberry syrups and infusions when you begin to feel ill with a cold or a fever. Elderberry is very high in vitamin C and is known for its immune boosting properties. Combine 3 tablespoons of dried elderberries and steep in 16 ounces of water for 15 minutes. Strain and place in the refrigerator until cool. Add 1/4 cup of the infusion and your favorite berries to 2 quarts water. Serve over ice and enjoy. You can also use mineral water for a fizzy treat.
