You want your home and workspace to smell fresh and clean, but don’t want to use toxic chemicals and plug-in air fresheners that might not be good for the environment. Luckily, you don’t have to choose one or the other. There are some amazing and effective natural air fresheners that help you protect your environment and have better-smelling rooms at the same time.

Odor-Eliminating Bags

The first type of natural air freshener you can use in your home is an odor-eliminating bag. There are a wide range of them and are easy to use since you typically just hang the bag anywhere in your home where you tend to have odors.

You can get different types of these bags, from ones filled with dried flowers or using essential oils, to ones with charcoal or bamboo ingredients. Typically, they will be filled with natural ingredients no matter what, making them a much more environmentally-friendly way to freshen up your home and neutralize odors.

Use Essential Oils

Another great option is to use essential oils. These tend to be better than candles because the scent is stronger and lasts longer, and of course is made from pure essential oils, without added ingredients. While you can also find different products with essential oils, the easiest thing to do is use drops of essential oils in an essential oil diffuser.

Only a few drops at a time is needed, and when turned on, it can really impact the smell of your home. These should be pure essential oils with nothing else added. There is also an added benefit of stress relief, anxiety relief, and many other aromatherapy-related benefits from using essential oils.

Dried or Fresh Flowers

While this is more of an old-fashioned form of improving the scent of your home, using dried flowers and potpourri is still a great option! Dried flowers can be added to sachets you put in your dresser drawers, hung up in closets, placed underneath sinks, or hanging inside your trash cans. Another option is to get potpourri and create a stronger scent by adding a few drops of your essential oils to it.

You can also start bringing in scented fresh flowers and plants to bring in some natural fragrance throughout your home. When they are placed near open windows, the breeze helps the scent to waft through your home as well.
